DigiCo Withdraws LAX1 Data Centre Application Amid Planning Uncertainty
DigiCo Infrastructure REIT (ASX: DGT) has withdrawn its development application for the LAX1 data centre project in Monterey Park after receiving indications from the City Council that planning approval for such use was uncertain. The company stated that the decision was voluntary and reflects a pragmatic approach to regulatory challenges. The LAX1 and LAX2 assets, collectively valued at US$71 million as of 31 December 2025, remain part of DigiCo’s portfolio, and management is confident in extracting value from them.
The firm plans to collaborate with local authorities to explore alternative uses for the combined 33-acre site, with the objective of efficiently reallocating capital. DigiCo continues to position itself as a diversified data centre owner, operator, and developer, with exposure across Australia and North America and a total planned IT capacity of 172MW, including 85MW of contracted capacity.
