Orpheus Set to Launch Maiden Uranium Drilling at Erudina Prospect
Orpheus Uranium Limited (ASX: ORP) is preparing to commence its inaugural drilling campaign at the Erudina Uranium Prospect within the broader Frome Project in South Australia during early Q3 2026. The program marks a significant step in advancing the company’s uranium exploration strategy and follows the completion of technical reviews, heritage surveys, stakeholder engagement, land access arrangements, and regulatory approvals. The initial campaign will comprise up to 35 rotary mud drill holes covering approximately 5,750 metres across a 10-kilometre interpreted palaeochannel system.
The drilling will test Orpheus’ updated geological model, which identifies multiple redox boundaries that may host uranium mineralisation within Eyre Formation sediments. Historical exploration across the area recorded widespread uranium anomalism, including numerous drill holes exceeding 100 ppm eU3O8, highlighting the prospect’s exploration potential. Erudina also shares geological characteristics with nearby sediment-hosted uranium deposits, including Boss Energy’s Gould’s Dam deposit. Results from the program are expected to refine exploration targets, improve geological understanding, and support future assessment of a potential Exploration Target and JORC-compliant Mineral Resource Estimate across the Frome Project.
