Hastings Strengthens Rare Earths Strategy with Strategic AU$1 Million Investment
Hastings Technology Metals Limited (ASX: HAS) has secured a strategic investment of AU$1 million from Malaysian mining company Malaco Mining Sdn. Bhd., reinforcing its growth ambitions in the rare earths sector. The funding will be raised through the placement of 2.74 million fully paid ordinary shares at AU$0.365 per share, providing additional financial flexibility to support the company’s development plans.
Malaco, which has expanded its operations into rare earth mining and separation, is currently developing a rare earth processing facility in Malaysia. The investment reflects confidence in Hastings’ long-term strategy and creates an opportunity for closer collaboration between the two companies.
The proceeds will be directed toward general working capital requirements and the advancement of Hastings’ rare earth initiatives across Australia and Thailand, including progress on its project portfolio and hydrometallurgical processing plant in Thailand. Management believes Malaco’s mining and minerals processing expertise could contribute valuable industry knowledge as Hastings continues to expand its downstream processing capabilities and strengthen its position in the global rare earths supply chain.
