Charger Grows Medcalf Lithium Resource and Advances Lake Johnston Strategy
Charger Metals NL (ASX: CHR) has reported a substantial increase in the lithium resource at its Medcalf deposit within the Lake Johnston Lithium Project, with the updated estimate rising to 10.6 million tonnes at 1.0% Li₂O. The revised resource reflects a 34% increase in contained lithium compared with the previous estimate, highlighting the success of recent drilling activities. In addition to lithium, the deposit contains significant tantalum mineralisation, which could provide an additional revenue stream in future development scenarios. The resource remains open in multiple directions, indicating potential for further expansion through ongoing exploration. Nearby, the Medcalf West prospect has also emerged as a promising growth opportunity, with exploration work suggesting the presence of additional lithium-bearing pegmatites. The project benefits from a favourable location near existing spodumene processing facilities and transport infrastructure. Following the divestment of its Bynoe asset, Charger plans to concentrate its efforts on progressing Lake Johnston toward the next stage of development.
