Expanded Geophysics Highlights Large-Scale Tungsten Potential at Linka
Viking Mines (ASX: VKA) has identified a significantly larger tungsten system at its Linka Project following expanded geophysical surveys, strengthening the case for upcoming drilling.
The latest work outlines a multi-kilometer mineralized footprint associated with a large intrusive system, with modelling suggesting a source body of around 2km in diameter. Importantly, the majority of the prospective contact zone remains unexplored, with only a small portion currently exposed, indicating substantial upside potential.
New targets have also been identified beneath volcanic cover in the southern extensions, revealing previously untested zones that could host additional mineralization. These findings materially expand the exploration scope and improve targeting confidence. Advanced 3D modelling is now being combined with geophysical data to refine drill locations ahead of the next drilling campaign in the June quarter. With the project located in Nevada and tungsten prices strengthening, Linka is increasingly positioned as a strategic asset within the US critical minerals supply chain.
