AuMEGA Begins Maiden Drilling at High-Potentail Newfoundland Targets
AuMEGA Metals Ltd (ASX: AAM) has initiated its first-ever diamond drilling campaign at the Isle aux Morts Granite and Cape Ray West prospects in Newfoundland and Labrador, marking a significant step in its 2026 exploration strategy. The program will evaluate several undrilled targets identified through detailed geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys, and structural analysis, with the aim of uncovering new mineralised zones.
The Isle aux Morts Granite and neighbouring Cape Ray West areas are considered highly prospective due to their favourable geological setting within the Cape Ray Shear Zone. Following completion of the initial drilling phase, the company plans to commence exploration at the Bunker Hill prospect later in the 2026 field season while awaiting laboratory assay results. Management believes the campaign will improve its understanding of the region’s geology, validate key exploration concepts, and help prioritise future drilling. The work forms part of AuMEGA’s broader strategy to systematically explore its extensive land package and expand its pipeline of potential gold discoveries.
