Sunrise Energy Metals Limited Advances Syerston Scandium Project with Strategic Growth Initiatives
Sunrise Energy Metals Limited (ASX: SRL) continued to make meaningful progress during the June 2026 quarter by advancing the development of its flagship Syerston Scandium Project while strengthening its long-term growth strategy. The company progressed key permitting activities, advanced front-end engineering and design work, initiated procurement for major equipment, and commenced evaluating a production expansion that could increase scandium oxide capacity from 60 tonnes to 180 tonnes annually.
Sunrise also broadened its exposure to high-value downstream technologies through a strategic US$5 million investment in Agni Semiconductor, supporting future demand for scandium in advanced semiconductor applications. Discussions with potential customers and offtake partners remained active as interest in secure scandium supply continued to strengthen. Exploration activities across its Queensland joint venture also advanced ahead of planned drilling later in 2026. Backed by a strong cash position of AU$115.44 million and continued government support, Sunrise remains well positioned to progress toward a final investment decision while expanding its presence across the critical minerals value chain.
