Element 25 Limited Strengthens Global Manganese Growth Strategy
Element 25 Limited (ASX: E25) is advancing its strategy to become a major supplier of sustainable manganese products for both the global steel and electric vehicle battery industries. The company’s 100%-owned Butcherbird Manganese Project in Western Australia hosts a world-class 274-million-tonne resource and an 18.3-year ore reserve, supporting a planned expansion to produce 1.1 million tonnes of manganese concentrate annually. With all key permits secured, early procurement underway and construction activities progressing, the project remains on track for commercial production in the first quarter of 2027. Strong project economics, low operating costs, innovative processing technology and a debt-free balance sheet reinforce its long-term development potential.
Beyond mining, Element 25 is building an integrated battery materials business through its proposed Louisiana High Purity Manganese Sulphate Monohydrate (HPMSM) facility in the United States, backed by a US$166 million Department of Energy grant and partnerships with General Motors, Stellantis and Nissan Chemical. The company aims to establish secure, low-carbon manganese supply chains outside China while benefiting from rising demand for manganese-rich battery chemistries, grid-scale energy storage and critical mineral supply diversification.
