Breakthrough Minerals Commences Drilling to Expand Barbara Copper-Gold Resource
Breakthrough Minerals Limited (ASX: BTM) has commenced its maiden diamond drilling program at the Barbara Copper-Gold Project in Queensland, marking a key operational milestone shortly after completing the project acquisition. The initial ~1,500 metre drilling campaign is designed to test depth extensions of known mineralisation at Barbara North and South, targeting expansion of the existing Mineral Resource Estimate of 6.5 million tonnes at 0.97% copper equivalent, containing approximately 63,000 tonnes of copper equivalent metal.
The program is focused on extending high-grade zones below previously reported intercepts, including results of up to 17 metres at 2.5% copper. A priority target includes the BARC071 zone, which has demonstrated mineralisation but remains largely untested. The broader 2026 exploration strategy includes over 4,500 metres of drilling across multiple prospects, supporting near-term resource growth and reinforcing the Company’s focus on rapid project advancement.
