4DMedical Gains Australian Regulatory Clearance for CT:VQ
4DMedical Limited (ASX: 4DX) has achieved a key milestone after securing approval from Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for its CT:VQ technology, enabling the solution to be commercially introduced across the country. The software-based platform produces functional lung ventilation and perfusion images from standard non-contrast CT scans, removing the reliance on radioactive tracers, injected contrast media, or dedicated nuclear medicine equipment. This latest approval expands the company’s regulatory presence to Australia alongside the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand, reinforcing its international growth strategy. Australia’s widespread CT scanner network is expected to support rapid adoption, particularly in healthcare facilities where nuclear medicine services are unavailable. Following successful deployments and commercial progress in the United States, 4DMedical also intends to seek Medicare reimbursement through the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC). These developments strengthen the company’s efforts to broaden access to advanced respiratory imaging and support future commercial growth.
