Flynn Gold Limited-Drilling Commences at Silver King Prospect
Flynn Gold Limited (ASX: FG1) has initiated its first-ever diamond core drilling initiative at the historic Silver King target area, positioned within its 100 per cent-controlled Henty silver-lead-zinc holding in the Zeehan region on Tasmania’s west coast. The program marks the first drill testing of the 1.6-kilometre Silver King Trend in approximately 80 years and is designed as a modern proof-of-concept to evaluate depth extensions of historically mined high-grade silver-lead-zinc shoots.
Historical drilling in 1947 reported intercepts including 0.5 metres at 547 grams per tonne silver and 47.5% lead beneath the Silver King Mine, highlighting the tenor of mineralisation. The staged campaign will comprise up to six diamond holes for approximately 1,200 metres, initially testing down-plunge extensions below historical workings at both Silver King and South King. With strong regional infrastructure and a long history of high-grade vein-style mining at Zeehan, the program aims to refine the geological model and assess structural continuity along the broader Silver King Trend.
