Element 25 Awards Key Mining and Ore Haulage Contracts for Butcherbird Expansion Project
Element 25 Limited (ASX: E25) has executed long-term Mining Services and Ore Haulage Services Agreements with Regroup Australia Pty Ltd for the Butcherbird Expansion Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, marking a significant milestone in advancing the project toward construction and expanded operations. The agreements establish an integrated contractor model covering both mining and logistics activities, designed to improve operational efficiency, reduce interface risk, and strengthen end-to-end supply chain performance.
The Butcherbird Expansion Project is targeting manganese concentrate production of 1.1 million tonnes per annum, supported by an Ore Reserve of 101.4 million tonnes at 10.4% manganese, underpinning an expected mine life exceeding 18 years. Ore from the site will be transported to the Utah Point port facility in Port Hedland as part of Element 25’s integrated Pit-to-Port logistics framework.
Management highlighted that the contracts align with the Company’s strategy to supply both traditional steel markets and future battery-grade high-purity manganese sulphate monohydrate (HPMSM) demand linked to electric vehicle battery manufacturing. Element 25 also confirmed that offtake discussions and other major project contracts are nearing completion, with mechanical completion and commissioning targeted for Q1 CY2027.
