Corridor Sands Moves Closer to Production as JV Partner Sets 2027 Timeline.
MRG Metals Limited (ASX: MRQ) has confirmed that its joint venture partner, Sinowin Lithium, is progressing development plans for the Corridor Sands Heavy Mineral Sands Project in Mozambique, with initial production targeted for March 2027. The project hosts a large-scale resource base of approximately two billion tonnes and is being advanced under a fully funded joint venture structure. Sinowin has already committed capital toward early-stage works and permitting and will continue to sole fund the project through to production, significantly reducing financial risk for MRG.
Regulatory progress remains on track, with environmental approval secured and resettlement processes expected to be completed during 2026. Initial output is planned at 130,000 to 160,000 tonnes per annum of heavy mineral concentrate, followed by a staged ramp-up over several years. Beyond Corridor Sands, MRG is advancing rare earth projects in Mozambique and South Africa, providing exposure to both near-term development and longer-term critical mineral growth opportunities within a diversified asset portfolio.
