ABS releases Wage Price Index for March 2022 quarter

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released Wage Price Index, Australia, March 2022 quarter. During the March 2022 quarter, seasonally adjusted Wage Price Index increased 0.7% for the second successive quarter.

The rate of annual wage growth increased from 2.3% in the previous quarter to 2.4% in the March 2022 quarter.

Wage increases across the private sector improved 0.7% in the March 2022 quarter and 2.4% yearly. It was the major driver of growth over the quarter.

Public sector wages increased 0.6% for March quarter 2022 and annually 2.2%.
