Turaco Gold Advances Afema Toward Tier-1 Gold Producer Status
Turaco Gold Limited (ASX: TCG) has delivered a positive Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for its Afema Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire, highlighting the potential for a large-scale, long-life gold operation. The study outlines average life-of-mine production of approximately 200,000 ounces per annum over a 10.3-year mine life, with total recovered gold production of 2.0 million ounces and average gold recovery of 87–88%. The project is supported by a maiden JORC Probable Ore Reserve of 55.1 million tonnes at 1.1g/t gold for 1.91 million ounces and an updated Mineral Resource Estimate of 116.7 million tonnes at 1.2g/t gold for 4.65 million ounces. At a gold price of US$3,000/oz, the project generates a post-tax NPV(5%) of US$1.49 billion and a post-tax IRR of 60%, while total development capital is estimated at US$410 million. Turaco plans to advance the project to definitive feasibility level, targeting first gold production in 2029 while continuing resource growth and exploration activities.
