Benz Mining Confirms Strong Gold Recoveries at Glenburgh’s Icon Deposit
Benz Mining Corp. (ASX: BNZ) has delivered encouraging metallurgical testwork results from the Icon deposit within its Glenburgh Gold Project in Western Australia, confirming the presence of free-milling gold with consistently high recovery rates across multiple mineralisation styles. Initial cyanidation testing achieved average gold extraction of approximately 95.5% from the higher-grade core material within 24 hours, while mid-grade mineralisation delivered around 91% recovery. Importantly, the broader mineralised halo also demonstrated strong recoveries averaging about 89%, with some low-grade samples returning extraction rates exceeding 93%. The results indicate rapid leach kinetics, low reagent consumption and favourable processing characteristics, supporting the potential for conventional gold recovery methods. Management highlighted that low-grade halo material may contribute recoverable ounces in future open-pit mining scenarios rather than being treated as waste, potentially enhancing project economics. Alongside ongoing metallurgical studies, Benz is expanding drilling activities across Glenburgh, with up to 12 RC drill shifts and additional pre-development programs aimed at advancing what it believes could become a large-scale multi-million-ounce gold system.
