Neurizon Strengthens Commercial Readiness Through Long-Term Elanco Supply Agreement
Neurizon Therapeutics Limited (ASX: NUZ) has signed a long-term supply agreement with Elanco Animal Health, securing access to GMP-grade monepantel, the active pharmaceutical ingredient used in its lead drug candidate, NUZ-001. The agreement, which has an initial five-year term, represents a significant step in strengthening the company’s manufacturing capabilities and commercialisation strategy as NUZ-001 advances through the Phase 2/3 HEALEY ALS Platform Trial. The arrangement builds on the existing global licence agreement between the two companies and supports Neurizon’s efforts to develop treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neurodegenerative diseases.
The agreement enhances Neurizon’s supply chain security, operational scalability, and regulatory infrastructure by ensuring long-term access to pharmaceutical-grade monepantel manufactured to human health standards. It also supports future clinical, regulatory, and potential commercial activities while improving the attractiveness of the NUZ-001 program to pharmaceutical partners and investors. Management believes the deal reinforces the company’s position as a clinically advanced and capital-efficient biotechnology company focused on neurodegenerative diseases, although commercialisation remains dependent on successful clinical outcomes and regulatory approvals.
