Strong Copper Metallurgical Results Confirm High Recovery Potential at Mumbezhi Project
Prospect Resources Limited (ASX: PSC) has reported highly encouraging metallurgical testwork results from its Kabikupa deposit within the Mumbezhi Copper Project in Zambia, demonstrating strong copper recoveries and high-quality concentrate production. The latest testwork on transition and low-grade fresh mineralisation delivered copper concentrate grades of up to 31.9% Cu with recoveries reaching 94.7%, while the low-grade fresh composite achieved 25.0% Cu at 94.3% recovery after a single cleaning stage. These results confirm the effectiveness of a simple, conventional flotation flowsheet previously applied to other Mumbezhi materials and reinforce the scalability of the processing approach. Importantly, the use of a coarse primary grind size of P80 250µm continues to support potential reductions in future plant capital and operating costs. The study also confirmed strong concentrate quality, consistent with smelter specifications, and low levels of deleterious elements. Prospect noted that these outcomes further strengthen confidence in the broader Mumbezhi development pathway, supporting ongoing resource growth drilling, geometallurgical studies, and the advancement of a future scoping study targeting large-scale copper production.
