Pengana International Equities Reviews Strategy and Considers Shareholder Liquidity Options
Pengana International Equities Limited (ASX: PIA) has provided an update on its ongoing strategic review and recent developments related to its investment management arrangements. The company clarified that a previous statement by Pengana Capital Group regarding a potential agreement with Antipodes Global Investors to manage PIA’s portfolio was issued without approval from the PIA Board. As a result, no changes to the company’s investment management structure or strategy have been authorised.
The Independent Board Committee established to evaluate strategic alternatives has completed its review and submitted its findings to the Board. Responsibility for further assessment has now shifted to the full Board, which is conducting additional analysis before making any decisions. In the meantime, the portfolio continues to be managed by Harding Loevner under the current mandate. The Board is also exploring capital management options, including a potential off-market share buy-back and the possibility of a fully franked special dividend to improve shareholder flexibility and liquidity.
