Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX: L1M) has identified encouraging tungsten exploration potential at its Warby Project in North Queensland after reviewing historical exploration records and conducting recent field investigations. Historical drainage sampling revealed tungsten values reaching 102ppm, indicating that the project may host mineralisation beyond its existing gold and copper targets.
Recent on-site work confirmed several shallow historical workings distributed along a two-kilometre northwest-trending corridor. The company observed visible tungsten mineralisation within quartz veins, greisen zones, and altered granite formations. Geological observations also pointed to broader mineralised structures between mapped vein systems, suggesting additional exploration upside across the area.
Lightning Minerals collected 14 rock chip samples from multiple vein locations, with laboratory assay results expected soon. The company believes the project is strategically positioned amid growing global interest in tungsten, which is increasingly viewed as a critical mineral due to tightening international supply conditions and rising industrial demand.
