LEL to Unlock Value Through AU$20 million Graphite Asset Sale
Lithium Energy Limited (ASX: LEL) has entered into an agreement to sell its Burke, Mt Dromedary, and Corella Graphite Projects in Queensland to M Battery Materials Pty Ltd (MBM) for AU$20 million, comprising AU$5 million in cash and AU$15 million in MBM shares. The transaction is aimed at creating a larger-scale battery materials business focused on graphite and vanadium assets critical to the global energy transition. MBM plans to undertake a minimum AU$15 million IPO and pursue an ASX listing, with Lithium Energy shareholders expected to gain exposure to the enlarged business through an in-specie distribution of MBM shares, subject to shareholder and ASX approvals. Following the proposed IPO and distribution, Lithium Energy shareholders could collectively hold around 33.33% of MBM. The company believes the transaction will strengthen development opportunities for the graphite assets while providing shareholders with exposure to a dedicated battery materials platform aligned with rising demand from electric vehicle and energy storage markets.
