Grange Updates Progress on Savage River Underground Expansion
Grange Resources Limited (ASX: GRR) has shared new developments regarding the North Pit Underground Project at the Savage River operation in Tasmania. The company stated that proposed legislation supporting the extension of important mining leases has successfully passed through both chambers of the Tasmanian Parliament with broad political support. The final approval process is still underway and is expected to provide stronger long-term security for future mining activities.
The company also completed an Independent Technical Expert assessment as part of its financing review. The study concluded that the underground project remains technically sound and did not identify any major operational, permitting, or engineering concerns that could prevent development.
However, ongoing uncertainty in global markets and fluctuations in commodity prices have weakened investor confidence. Due to these conditions, the major shareholder has chosen not to fund the project for now. Grange is continuing efforts to refine the development strategy, aiming to reduce funding needs while preserving long-term growth opportunities for shareholders.
