Anson and POSCO Advance Green River Lithium Development
Anson Resources Limited (ASX: ASN) has strengthened the development outlook for its Green River Lithium Project in Utah through two major milestones. Anson Resources received board-level approval alongside POSCO Holdings to move forward with a binding partnership aimed at developing a Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) demonstration facility at the Green River project. Under the arrangement, POSCO will fund the design, construction, and operation of the facility using its proprietary DLE technology, while Anson will receive a facilitation payment of approximately AU$7.2 million. The demonstration plant is expected to support the commercial validation of lithium extraction from Green River brines and could pave the way for broader collaboration between the two companies.
In parallel, Anson announced a significant upgrade to the project’s JORC Mineral Resource estimate, which increased by 650% to a total of 773,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent. The upgrade reflects improved drilling data, expanded project areas, and stronger confidence in lithium concentrations within the Mississippian Unit. These developments position Green River as an emerging strategic lithium asset supporting future North American battery supply chains.
