Emyria Limited (ASX: EMD) welcomed updated recommendations from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), which are expected to accelerate therapist recruitment across its national Empax clinic network. The revised framework broadens the range of professionals eligible to participate in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, allowing nurses, occupational therapists, and other qualified practitioners to join treatment teams alongside psychologists and medical practitioners.
The changes are anticipated to improve clinic utilisation, reduce reliance on clinical psychologists, and support faster workforce expansion across Australia. Emyria also highlighted the inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers, which could strengthen culturally appropriate mental health care delivery.
The company expects the regulatory benefits to become effective in the second half of CY2026 following final TGA approval, ethics reviews, workforce planning, and training initiatives. Management views the update as a constructive step toward improving patient access and supporting the long-term growth of psychedelic-assisted therapies in Australia.
