ASX Tumbled; All Sectors Are Low today

On 12 April 2022, at AEST 12:17 pm, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 has marginally dropped 48.50 0.52% and currently trading at 7446 levels. All 11 sectors are lower today along with the S&P/ASX 200. Utilities sector and Energy sector are worst hit sectors as the oil prices decreases globally.

Novonix Limited (ASX: NVX) and Hub24 Limited (ASX: HUB) are the top 2 losers with 7.533% and 5.123% declining in the stock prices. Uniti Group Limited (ASX: UWL) and Regis Resources Limited (ASX: RRL) are the top 2 gainers, gaining 2.991% and 2.369% in their stock prices.

Factors behind the decline-

• Energy sector falls as the companies’ faces loss due to decrease in the oil prices globally.
• ASX shares impacted due to the rising concerns over global growth.
• The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine is another reason of getting worried due to rising commodity prices, the impact of war on supply chains and subsequent threat of economic slowdown triggered by the Central banks increasing rates to control inflation.
• S&P 500 has declined 1.7%, DJIA slides 1.2% and NASDAQ has dropped 2.2%. As investors are worried about the ongoing war in Ukraine and its impact on supply chain and commodity prices.
• Hang Seng index falls 3%, due to China’s covid-19 lockdown in parts of the country.
