Visible Gold Discovery Strengthens Astoria Prospect at Rouyn Project
Ardiden Limited (ASX: ADV) has reported the observation of visible gold in drillhole AS-26-793 at its Astoria deposit within the Rouyn Gold Project in Québec. The gold was identified between 152.05 metres and 152.20 metres downhole, appearing as coarse flakes measuring up to 7 millimetres. This mineralisation occurs within a broader zone of quartz-carbonate-chlorite veining and alteration, associated with ultramafic volcanics of the Piché Group.
The discovery aligns with the company’s geological model, supporting the presence of a structurally controlled orogenic gold system. The mineralised zone also exhibits strong hydrothermal alteration, indicating favourable conditions for gold deposition. While the presence of visible gold is encouraging, the company emphasises that such observations are qualitative and not indicative of grade or economic value.
Core samples have been submitted for laboratory analysis, with assay results expected in late May, which will provide further clarity on the extent and grade of mineralisation.
