Latrobe Magnesium Advances Production and Commercial Milestones in Q1 2026
Latrobe Magnesium Limited (ASX: LMG) reported strong operational progress for the quarter ended 31 March 2026, marked by successful production and early commercialisation achievements. The company completed a sustained two-week production run at its Hazelwood North Demonstration Plant, producing around 20 tonnes of high-grade magnesium oxide (MgO) that met commercial quality standards. Independent assay results confirmed high purity levels, supporting its suitability for downstream magnesium metal production.
During the period, the company-initiated Phase 1B installation and commissioning activities, transitioning the plant into a planned shutdown to enable the integration of briquetting and reduction furnace systems. This phase aims to deliver first magnesium metal output in the second half of 2026.
Importantly, Latrobe Magnesium secured a US$2 million non-dilutive prepayment from its U.S. partner, strengthening funding for project execution. The company also recorded its first revenue through initial MgO sales, marking a key step toward commercial operations.
