Theta Gold Advances TGME Project with SMPP Contracts
Theta Gold Mines Limited (ASX: TGM) has moved into Phase 2 construction at its TGME Gold Project in South Africa, awarding structural, mechanical, platework and piping (SMPP) contracts to PICM and RM Process. The scope of work covers fabrication and installation of structural steel, mechanical equipment and piping systems essential to plant construction.
Under a modular strategy, all major steel components will be fabricated off-site at PICM’s facilities before transport and installation, reducing on-site complexity and execution risk. PICM previously completed Phase 1 earthworks and civils, while RM Process will act as owner’s engineer during this stage. The TGME Gold Project is engineered to deliver more than 100,000 ounces of gold annually, with capacity to scale to approximately 1 million tonnes per annum, equating to around 160,000 ounces per year. Construction equipment mobilisation, including crane deployment, is already underway.
