S&P/ASX 200 Up Today; Lifted By Information Technology

On 29 April 2022, 1:00 PM AEST, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 opens up higher and gaining 53.10 points or 0.72%, and currently trading at 7410.00 price levels. All 11 sectors are trading in a green zone along with the S&P/ASX 200. The Information Technology and Telecommunication Services sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors and gaining 1.74% and 1.39% in their index value.

Pointsbet Holdings Limited (ASX: PBH) and Nickel Mines Limited (ASX: NIC) are the top gaining stocks, gaining 10.332% and 6.938% in their stock prices. Resmed Inc. (ASX: RMD) and Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited (ASX: DMP) are the top losing stocks and are declining 5.892% and 4.583% in stock prices.

Factors Behind the rise-

• The Information Technology sector is rising after the tech stocks rally in the previous trading session in US markets.
• Pointsbet Holdings Limited is gaining after it reported a 34% increase in the turnover compared to the previous corresponding period. Also, the company is continuing its North American Expansion.
• Dow has closed up by 1.9%, S&P 500 was higher by 2.5%, and NASDAQ closed down by 3.1%.
• Hang Seng is declining by 0.84%, and FTSE 100 is up by 1.13%.
