S&P/ASX 200 Opens up Marginally; Utilities sector was the top gainer

As of 21 April 2022, 12:00 AM AEST, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 opens up higher and gaining 17.90 points or 0.24% and currently trading at 7587.10 price levels. Today 6 out of 11 sectors are trading in a green zone along with the S&P/ASX 200. The Utilities and Industrials sectors are top 2 gaining sector and gaining 1.99% and 1.35% in their index value. While on the other hand, Information Technology and Materials sector are the top 2 loser stocks, which declining 3.00% and 1.06% in their index value, respectively.

Challenger Limited (ASX: CGF) and Brambles Limited (ASX: BXB) are the top gaining stocks, which are gaining 8.345% and 6.686% in their stock prices. Megaport Limited. (ASX: MP1) and Tyro Payments Limited (ASX: TYR) are the top losing stocks, and are declining 16.772% and 4.407% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing market-

• Top gainer Challenger Limited released Q3 trading update and reported a 10% growth in Life Sales. The Company expects its full year profit on a normalized basis will be at the upper end of its forecast range of AU$430million to AU$480million.
• Dow has closed up by 0.7%, S&P 500 was declined by 0.1% and NASDAQ closed down by 1.2%.
• Hang Seng is declining by 0.6% and FTSE 100 is up 0.30%.
