PointsBet Holdings Limited (ASX: PBH) announced that its 100% owned subsidiary, PointsBet Kansas, LLC, received a provisional certification related to the receipt of final launch authorisation. This certification will allow the company to launch sportsbook operations in Kansas on September 1, 2022. In May 2022, Kansas Government Kelly introduced sports betting legislation into law, with both online and retail betting in the State authorised to start with a soft launch on 1 September 2022 and an official launch on 8 September, consistent with the first NFL Week 1 game.
The company has secured market access in Kansas through a ‘primary skin’ contract with Kansas Crossing Casino, L.C. Kansas Crossing controls the Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel, situated in the middle of the four-state area, which is a short distance from the border of Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas.
