Genesis Energy Delivers Strong Q3 Performance and Upgrades FY26 Guidance
Genesis Energy Limited (ASX: GNE) reported a solid operational performance for Q3 FY26, supported by favorable hydrology and disciplined portfolio management. Hydro generation increased significantly to 745 GWh, while thermal generation declined sharply as the company optimized fuel usage and redirected gas to higher-value customers. Electricity netback improved to NZ$173/MWh, reflecting a continued focus on margin quality over volume, despite a reduction in total customers to approximately 491,500. National storage levels remained strong at 117% of average, providing positive momentum heading into the final quarter. Strategic progress continued across key growth initiatives, including the advancement of battery energy storage at Huntly and the development of multiple solar projects.
