Element 25 Secures Updated US$166 Million U.S. DoE Grant for Louisiana Battery Materials Project
Element 25 Limited (ASX: E25) has secured updated funding terms with the U.S. Department of Energy, maintaining access to a US$166 million grant for the planned High Purity Manganese Sulphate Monohydrate (HPMSM) processing facility in Louisiana. The updated agreement reinforces U.S. Government backing for the project while aligning with evolving battery technologies, domestic critical mineral supply chain priorities and long-term electrification demand. The grant remains a key pillar of the project's funding framework, with revised milestones and execution timelines designed to reflect current market conditions and strengthen project delivery.
The company is also advancing an integrated development strategy that connects its Butcherbird Expansion Project in Western Australia with the proposed Louisiana processing facility, creating a secure mine-to-market supply chain for battery-grade manganese products. This vertically integrated approach is expected to support rising demand for manganese-rich battery chemistries while enhancing supply security for U.S. customers. Element 25 will continue collaborating with strategic partners, including General Motors and Stellantis, as it progresses the updated execution plan and moves the project toward development.
