Critical Metal Drilling at West Desert: Unlocking High-Grade Resource Potential.
American West Metals Limited (ASX: AW1) has commenced a 5,000-meter diamond drilling program at its West Desert Project in Utah, targeting key critical metals, including indium, gallium, copper, silver, and gold. The aim is to expand the existing Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) by testing high-priority areas beyond the current resource boundaries. Notably, the "Goldilocks Zone" has already shown exceptional results, including 94.5g/t indium, 2.8% copper, and 39.5g/t silver, demonstrating significant resource potential. The drilling program will also explore gallium-rich zones along the Juab Fault, which is geologically similar to the Apex Mine, the U.S.'s top gallium producer. Additionally, the company is resampling historical core and mine waste, which could reveal new high-grade zones of critical metals, supporting the U.S. government's push to reduce reliance on foreign sources of these vital minerals.
