Court approves convening of Scheme Meeting concerning AGL Australia demerger

AGL Energy Limited (ASX:AGL) announced that the Supreme Court of NSW has ordered, among other things, that a Scheme Meeting of AGL Energy shareholders be arranged to vote on a scheme of arrangement for the future demerger of AGL Australia  by AGL Energy.

The Directors of AGL Energy has unanimously recommended that shareholders vote in favour of the resolutions to be considered at the Scheme Meeting and at a preceding general meeting. Each AGL Energy Director aims to vote, or cause to be voted, any AGL Energy shares that he or she holds or controls in favour of the Demerger Resolutions.
