Boab Advances Sorby Hills Development with DeGrussa Plant Acquisition.
Boab Metals Limited (ASX: BML) has moved closer to finalising its acquisition of the DeGrussa Processing Plant from Sandfire Resources, marking an important milestone for the Sorby Hills Silver-Lead Project in Western Australia. With all transaction requirements now fulfilled, the company expects the deal to close shortly.
The processing facility will be relocated to Sorby Hills, where it is expected to support future mining and concentrate production activities. Management believes the purchase will streamline project execution by reducing procurement challenges, lowering initial development costs, and shortening construction timelines.
Technical reviews carried out alongside engineering specialists confirmed that the plant is suitable for Sorby Hills’ proposed operational setup and production targets. The acquisition also includes additional spare equipment to support long-term operations. Boab continues to progress site development work and remains focused on commencing commercial concentrate production during the second half of 2027.
