Avira Resources Launches New Gold Exploration Drilling at Mt Cattlin
Avira Resources Limited (ASX: AVW) has commenced a 4,500-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Mt Cattlin Gold Project in Western Australia, taking a key step toward further evaluating the project's gold potential and supporting its ongoing growth strategy. The program is designed to expand known gold mineralisation and generate data that will support the delivery of an initial Mineral Resource Estimate, which the company aims to complete by the fourth quarter of 2026. The drilling campaign focuses on extending known mineralisation at the Sirdar and Maori Queen gold deposits, both of which have delivered impressive historical high-grade gold intercepts.
The program will also systematically test the Ellendale and Plantagenet prospects, where previous drilling identified encouraging gold mineralisation but limited follow-up work has been completed. All necessary regulatory, environmental, and heritage approvals have been secured, allowing drilling activities to proceed as planned.
Management highlighted that the campaign is designed to define shallow resource extensions while evaluating broader growth opportunities across the project area. Results from the drilling program are expected to be released progressively during 2026 and will support resource definition, exploration growth, and future development planning at Mt Cattlin.
