Great Northern Minerals Limited (ASX: GNM) is progressing toward its first drilling campaign at the Iron Butte Gold-Silver Project in Nevada after securing experienced local drilling contractor Alford Drilling LLC and lodging the required permit application with US authorities.The planned reverse circulation drilling program will cover approximately 3,000 metres and is expected to begin in late October 2026, depending on rig availability. At least six priority targets will be tested as GNM looks to expand Iron Butte’s existing inferred resource of 480,000 ounces of gold and 11.5 million ounces of silver.Exploration work has further strengthened the upcoming campaign. Recent surface sampling from previously undrilled areas returned grades reaching 2.9 g/t gold and 259 g/t silver. In addition, interpretation of high-resolution drone magnetic survey data has highlighted important structural features, allowing GNM to sharpen its target selection ahead of drilling.
