Market Alert : ASX 200 Faces Resistance at All-Time High, Experiences Pullback

Can Trek Metals AU$15 Million Capital Raise Fast-Track Drilling at Its High-Grade Kuro Manganese Discovery?

Source: Kapitales Research

Highlights

  • Trek Metals Limited (ASX: TKM) has secured firm commitments to raise AU$15 million at an issue price of AU$0.15 per share.
  • The placement was heavily oversubscribed, resulting in scale-backs and the addition of new Australian institutional investors to the register.
  • Funds will underpin a major RC and diamond drilling campaign at the Kuro manganese discovery within the Christmas Creek Project in Western Australia.

Strong Demand Supports Capital Raising

Trek Metals Limited (ASX: TKM) has completed a strongly supported capital raising of AU$15 million before costs, aimed at advancing exploration at its recently identified Kuro manganese discovery in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The placement received robust demand from a mix of new and existing sophisticated and institutional investors, resulting in applications being scaled back due to oversubscription.

The capital raise comprises a first tranche of approximately AU$13.55 million through the issue of 90.33 million shares under the company’s existing placement capacity, along with a second tranche of AU$1.45 million subscribed by directors, subject to shareholder approval.

Funding Major Drilling at Christmas Creek

Proceeds from the placement will be directed toward accelerating manganese exploration at the 100%-owned Christmas Creek Project. A large-scale drilling program combining Reverse Circulation and diamond drilling is scheduled to commence in April, targeting below high-grade outcropping manganese mineralisation where recent rock chip samples returned grades of up to 60.1%.

The drilling will also assess extensive gravity and geophysical anomalies interpreted to represent subsurface mineralisation. Supporting work streams include geophysical data integration, refined drill targeting, geological interpretation, and preparatory heritage surveys across multiple target areas.

Positioning for Resource Definition

With a strengthened balance sheet, Trek plans to deploy a multi-rig drilling campaign over much of the year to evaluate the scale and continuity of the Kuro discovery. In parallel, the company intends to progress metallurgical test work on manganese mineralisation while continuing gold and base-metal exploration across the broader Christmas Creek Project area.

Management views the upcoming drilling campaign as a key step toward defining a maiden Mineral Resource and advancing the project through its next phase of exploration.
