Viking Mines Advances Linka Tungsten Project with Strong Metallurgical and Sampling Progress
Viking Mines Limited (ASX: VKA) has commenced a detailed field programme at its Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada, focusing on evaluating historical tailings and ore stockpiles for near-term commercialisation. Systematic sampling is underway to determine grade and volume, with tailings being assessed for low-cost reprocessing as supplemental plant feed. Historical stockpiles are also being tested to validate high-grade potential, supported by earlier results of 0.8% WO₃.
The company continues to advance metallurgical work, recently achieving a 53-fold upgrade to produce a premium 63.6% WO₃ concentrate. Additional sample collection is ongoing to support comminution testing and define energy requirements and operating costs for the processing study.
Initial fieldwork is confirming geological targets, including an 820m mineralised corridor and an 800m extension. Phase 2 activities, scheduled for late April, will include mapping and trench sampling ahead of a June quarter drilling campaign, supported by tungsten prices at US$3,185/mtu.
