Temas Reinforces Processing Technology with Chromium Patent Application
Temas Resources (ASX: TIO) continues to enhance its proprietary processing capabilities by introducing a patent application for a novel chloride-based chromium recovery process built on its Regenerative Chloride Leach (RCL) technology. The application, lodged with a priority date of 10 July 2026, extends the company's intellectual property beyond titanium and vanadium into chromium, a critical mineral widely used in stainless steel, aerospace, defence, energy infrastructure and advanced manufacturing. The development follows recent metallurgical testwork and reinforces Temas’ strategy of building a scalable portfolio of environmentally responsible critical mineral processing technologies.
The new process could be applied to Temas’ wholly owned La Blache and Lac Brûlé projects in Québec as well as third-party chromium-bearing deposits, concentrates and mine waste. With eleven granted metallurgical patents already in place and additional patent applications for vanadium and chromium, the company aims to strengthen opportunities in technology licensing, strategic partnerships and commercial deployment. Temas believes expanding its intellectual property portfolio enhances its long-term growth prospects while supporting rising demand for secure and sustainable critical mineral supply chains.
