Prospect Resources Secures AU$45 Million to Accelerate Mumbezhi Copper Expansion.
Prospect Resources (ASX: PSC) has secured firm commitments to raise AU$45 million through a placement priced at AU$0.38 per share, strengthening its balance sheet to fast-track development of the Mumbezhi Copper Project in Zambia. The capital raising attracted strong support from domestic and international institutional investors, with major shareholder Eagle Eye Asset Holdings participating to maintain its 15.1% stake, subject to approval.
Funds will primarily support an additional 50,000 metres of drilling across 2026–2027, targeting expansion and resource upgrades at the Nyungu Central deposit, alongside systematic testing of high-priority regional prospects. Proceeds will also advance metallurgical studies, complete a Scoping Study in the second half of 2026, and progress toward a Pre-Feasibility Study in 2027.
Mumbezhi currently hosts a JORC-compliant resource of 173.8 million tonnes at 0.44% copper for 772,000 tonnes of contained copper. With Phase 3 drilling commencing in Q2 2026, Prospect is positioning Mumbezhi for significant scale growth within the Central African Copperbelt.
