Orezone Gold Achieves First Gold from Bombore Hard Rock Expansion
Orezone Gold Corporation (ASX: ORE) has successfully poured its first gold from the 2.5Mtpa hard rock processing plant at the Bomboré Gold Mine, marking a critical development milestone for the Company. Commissioning activities have been completed, with the mill operating at an average of 78% of nameplate capacity during the initial five days, culminating in first gold production on December 15, 2025.
The stage 1 hard rock expansion was delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget following an approximately 12-month construction period, highlighting strong project execution capabilities. Management expects to declare commercial production in early Q1 2026, which is anticipated to materially transform Bomboré’s operating profile. Once fully ramped up, total gold output is forecast to increase by approximately 45%, reaching 170,000–185,000 ounces in 2026. This production uplift is expected to drive a meaningful cash flow inflection, supported by Orezone’s robust balance sheet and a favourable gold price environment.
