Canyon Resources Limited (ASX: CAY) has provided an update on the Minim Martap Bauxite Project development, confirming key progress towards production. The surface miner has been mobilised to the site, with mining operations scheduled to commence soon and first production targeted for early Q2 2026. Financial modelling shows that the company’s current cash position and AFG debt financing are sufficient to meet Stage 1 CAPEX requirements for the project, with first ore shipment expected in Q3 2026.
Discussions with CRRC Ziyang Co indicate that the first locomotives will arrive at the Port of Douala in mid to late Q2 2026, enabling ore transport from the Inland Rail Facility to the port ahead of shipment. Additionally, the company continues offtake negotiations with potential partners, targeting agreements after the first bauxite shipments.
