Marquee Secures DOE-Linked Rare Earth Processing IP to Strengthen Downstream Strategy
Marquee Resources Limited (ASX: MQR) has reported the execution of a Research and Development Patent License and Option Agreement with UT-Battelle LLC, operator of Oak Ridge National Laboratory under the United States Department of Energy. The agreement provides Marquee with access to advanced rare earth extraction and separation technologies, including proprietary methods for adjacent lanthanide separation and NEAREST technology. The licence, valid for 24 months across Australia and the United States, enables the Company to apply these technologies to its Redlings Rare Earth Project in Western Australia. The arrangement includes an option to negotiate a commercial licence, offering a pathway toward potential downstream processing capabilities. The agreement enhances Marquee’s positioning within the rare earth value chain, particularly in high-value separation processes critical to electrification, defense and advanced manufacturing supply chains. This development supports strategic evaluation of processing solutions and aligns with growing global demand for secure rare earth supply.
