IDP Education Limited: Navigating Industry Headwinds Through Strategic Transformation
IDP Education Limited (ASX: IEL) is an internationally recognised education services provider that specialises in connecting students with overseas study opportunities and is a joint owner of the IELTS English proficiency examination. The company operates through an extensive network spanning Asia, Australasia, and major Western destination markets.
In H1 FY26, the company reported revenue of AU$462.2 million, down 5 per cent, reflecting weaker global student mobility amid tighter immigration and visa settings. The company recorded a statutory net profit after tax of AU$23.5 million, representing a decline compared to the previous corresponding period.
Despite volume pressures, IDP improved student placement and language testing yields and maintained strong cost discipline, delivering adjusted EBIT of AU$87.5 million. The company progressed its multi-year transformation program, targeting a AU$25 million net reduction in the FY26 cost base.
Supported by a solid balance sheet and upgraded FY26 adjusted EBIT guidance of AU$120 million to AU$130 million, IDP remains focused on digital innovation, operational efficiency and long-term profitable growth.
