Federal Approval Clears Key Hurdle for Beetaloo Energys Appraisal Gas Sales
Beetaloo Energy Australia Limited (ASX: BTL) has received a major regulatory milestone, with the Federal Minister granting approval for Traditional Owner consent to vary the Exploration Deed for EP187. This approval allows the company to move toward selling and beneficially using appraisal gas, following endorsement from the Mambaliya Rrumburriya Wuyaliya Traditional Owners earlier in the year. The decision now enables Beetaloo Energy to progress the final Northern Territory Government approval required under section 57AAA of the Petroleum Act.
Once the NT approval is secured, the company will be able to continue appraisal drilling and commercial gas sales from EP187 for several years while the resource is further delineated. Appraisal gas will be supplied into the local market under an existing agreement with the NT Government, supporting energy reliability and contributing royalties for the region. Flow testing at Carpentaria-5H is currently underway.
