Ark Mines Intersects Gold at Sandy Mitchell, Adds Potential Value Upside
Ark Mines Limited (ASX: AHK) has reported initial gold intersections from drilling at its Sandy Mitchell Rare Earths and Heavy Minerals Project in North Queensland, highlighting a potential supplementary revenue stream alongside its core rare earth operations. The drilling program targeted a paleochannel system following earlier gold indications in nearby streams. Results confirmed shallow gold mineralization, although grades remain modest. Importantly, test work indicates that gold could be recovered using simple gravity processes already planned for rare earth extraction, potentially enhancing overall project economics.
Only a portion of the assay results has been received so far, with further testing underway to assess the full extent of mineralization.
