ADX Energy Receives Independent Validation for Sicily Channel Gas Potential
ADX Energy Ltd (ASX: ADX) has reported that an independent technical assessment by RISC Advisory has confirmed the exploration potential of the Miocene-aged Terravecchia Formation biogenic gas play within its wholly owned CR 150.AU Permit in the offshore Sicily Channel, Italy. The assessment validated ADX’s geological interpretation, prospective resource estimation methodology and reservoir assumptions, while also supporting the company’s exploration strategy. RISC concluded that the play is supported by regional geology, nearby producing gas fields and encouraging data from offset wells, with recommendations that could further enhance high-case resource estimates.
The independent review also backed ADX’s planned acquisition of modern 3D seismic data and the application of direct hydrocarbon indicator workflows to reduce exploration risk before drilling. The permit contains prospective resources with an arithmetic mean estimate of 619 BCF across multiple prospects, all held at a 100% working interest. Located near existing gas infrastructure and the Transmed pipeline, the Sicily Channel project offers strategic access to European energy markets. ADX intends to continue advancing technical studies and exploration activities as it works towards drilling readiness and unlocking the permit’s long-term resource potential.
