ACCC approved Endeavour Group’s revised hotel buy plan

Dec 23, 2022

Today ACCC announced that it had approved the recommended acquisitions of the Beach Hotel and Tower Hotel by Endeavour Group Limited, following accepting a court-enforceable undertaking offered by Endeavour to sell its BWS Seaford bottle shop.

During the ACCC’s investigation, Endeavour revised its acquisition offer and offered to sell the BWS Seaford bottle shop to speed up the ACCC’s review. In the revised proposal, Endeavour has also withdrawn its offer to purchase two other South Australian hotels: the Crown Inn in Old Reynella and the Whitehorse Inn in Bolivar. Endeavour is a major Australian alcoholic drinks retailer and hotel operator that activates a portfolio of brands comprising BWS, Dan Murphy’s, Jimmy Brings, Shorty’s Liquor, and Langton’s. Endeavour also operates over 330 licensed hotels across Australia via its subsidiary, ALH Hotels.
